MBA Stories: Personal Connections

  • Making Personal Connections in Darden's MBA Program

"What surprised me most about Darden was the community here. I went to a relatively large undergraduate institution.  From the moment I walked into Darden on my first day, I’ll never forget when they handed you your nametag and you really felt that you were a member of this community.  You weren’t a number or just another student coming through these doors. They really care about you, and they care about you in a broader sense than your academics.

The faculty and staff want to get to know you as a person and make sure that your life is going well so that you can excel in the classroom and in anything you want to do. I’ve been really impressed with that.  Lots of little personal anecdotes, like when I got engaged, the Office of Student Affairs sent a card to congratulate me. They care about what’s going on in your life so you can perform your best."
